Katrina is a true artist. One of those people that breathe art in every moment. One day, when offices where still a thing(!), she saw me wearing a denim jacket. She approached me with her huge, contagious smile and told me the idea she had for it. It was brilliant and that same night she walked back home with my jacket with her. A couple weeks later she had wrapped my beautiful jacket in a beautiful package. In the back of the jacket she had painted an insane desgin inspired by pieces of street art I was particularly in love with and that involved one of my favourite street artists, Roa. She came up with the most unique design that made my denim jacket not just an accessory anymore. She gave it a soul, she poured her immense artistic talent on it. Katrina Thunem is a talented artist. When she first began to work on her painting, The Artist's Curse, I felt her connection to the woman in the portrait. As a writer myself, I understand the struggle of your work never feeling 'finished'. There's always an itch to make it better; however, it's deciding when something is finished that we are abel to let it go and move on.
