Start each day off on the right foot. - Joe Vitale

Get your day started on a bright foot with these hand-painted white shoes. I made the design of this shoe by incorporating a Japanese sun, while in line with the colour scheme of the Norwegian flag, combining two elements of my history.

If you ask me, when putting an outfit together the first thing you must consider is the shoes that you are going to wear to accomplish the tasks ahead. Are you going to walk for long distances? Sneakers are probably a good choice. Are you going to the beach? I suggest you put on some sandals or flip flops. Are you going out to a nice dinner date? Finally, the perfect opportunity to wear those beautiful new heels you've been dying to show off. Whatever you choose, make sure to put the health of your feet first. Since I like shoes so much, I thought it would be a cool idea to create a unique shoe that no one else has by hand-painting the white fabric.

Shoes, commonly used as a fashion item, are really intended to protect and comfort the human foot while we embrace the day. One thing that I have learned is that, although planning can be important, the most valuable thing is to begin doing. We are often waiting for the right time, the perfect time to do something, and then before we know it, more time than we wanted has passed us by without much result. So, allow me to let you in on a little secret...there is no perfect time. Now is the time. Doing is where the magic happens. Doing is the first step towards your eventual success in whatever you are trying to achieve, to following your heart. Admittedly, there are many things that I think about doing, but that's just it; thinking is the beginning of a great idea, but action is what really makes it come into fruition.

Did you know that the fashion industry is the second leading greatest freshwater polluter in the world? This clothing is part of a larger collection I have created to reflect this. This is often the result of overproducing fashion items. Consequently, in reflection of the Sustainable Development Goals of the Paris Agreement to reduce climate change, the concept was born to rethink, recycle and reuse second-hand clothing. Creating fashionable, unique items from items you may have not considered worth purchasing. The intention is to create a win-win situation, an environmentally conscious way to reflect your unique personality through your clothes. It is not only a unique statement piece, but also a way to support the fight against climate change through fashion.

10% of the proceeds from the sale of this item will be donated to Shoe Bank Canada, a registered Canadian charity that collects shoes from footwear manufacturers, the homes of Canadians and distributes them to people in need through the help of social agencies across the country.

My favourite footwear are sneakers, how about you?

Either you run the day, or the day runs you. - Jim Rohn
